a mile long shingle beach, very quiet when visited in July 2006. Exceptionally clear water and very little litter. The current is quite strong and due to the slope of the beach the water gets deep quite quickly. Free car park and pub right next to the beach. |

a sandy cove, usually reasonably busy with families and children. Lots of rock pools and big pieces of seaweed with which the dogs enjoyed playing tug of war! |

the beach is reached by steps that run down the wooded cliff from the castle grounds. Sandy beach with limited facilities and the nearest toilets and refreshments are in the castle grounds at the top of the cliff. |

dogs are allowed all year round. Accommodation available at the Golden Acres Bungalow Park with your dogs or opposite at the caravan park. |

shingle beach usually very busy on Sundays and during school holidays. Very steep steps down to the beach from the cliff top car park. All facilities located at the car park (including poo bins!). |

the beach along the south coast of the island allows dogs on most parts. The beach as usual is mainly shingle/pebble with some sandy patches. Plenty of parking in various pay and display car parks along the shore. Some restrictions for dogs and horses from May to September. |
