HARVEY & BRADLEY
We adopted Harvey nearly a year ago and he is the most fab Lab anyone could ever own! We are very grateful to Ruth Reeves who brought us Harvey, a very large black 1 year old dog, when we had put a preference in for a chocolate young bitch!
This shows you a story of success, as Harvey is the best thing since sliced bread. He plays and sleeps with our boys, as you can see on one of the photos, but he also entertains himself on his trampoline, as we call it now as Harv is on it more than the boys. He plays with the rabbit and the guinea pig that we have and also has made friends with the neighbour's cat.
We take him on the beach nearly daily and he goes and plays with every other dog, even if he gets snarled at, he will go back and try to get them to play. He returns when I call him and I often ask myself why did his previous owners decide to get rid of such a super hero. He comforts you when you are upset. He is loving, caring... I could go on for hours about him as he has made me realise from the moment that he arrived, that you can love two or three etc animals all the same, where I always thought that our old dog Raggs was my main man. Harvey changed all that as I love him to bits and would not part with him if people offered me a million.
So thank you very much as Harvey is now part of our family and we hope to be adopting another dog very soon. You never know it might be a young chocolate brown girly this time!
Lots of Love,

HARVEY is now joined by his new companion BRADLEY
Our dog Raggs died very sadly and I was very upset as he had been my best friend, companion and shadow for 14 years.
Harvey could feel this and was also starting to show signs of being hurt. I decided to speak to my family about getting another rescue dog. All decided we would like another Labrador and when Ruth visited, we first of all specified a chocolate girl no older than 2. After having spoken to Ruth for about 20 minutes, we all decided it did not really matter what colour or gender as long as it would be young enough to play with Harv.
It did not take Ruth very long to contact myself about a dog that had been admitted into rescue and was available to be seen in kennels. So off I went with our youngest son William and of course Harvey to meet Bradley.
Bradley came tearing out jumping around like a bouncy ball, (it was love at first sight) we brought Harvey in and there we were travelling back the four of us half an hour later, knowing that Bradley would be joining us.
Bradley was very ill for the first few days and eventually brought up a washcloth and several socks. It soon became apparent that Bradley had never played with another dog or people before. He arrived with a sack full of balls, but he has not shown any interest in them as he has been far to busy playing with Harvey, Ollie, Will and the rest of the family. Initially I was very worried as he chased cars thinking they were toys, but he has now realised he is at home and is not going anywhere. He waits patiently for his food until he is told to fetch it; he gives paws and kisses and is my new shadow. As I am typing this he is lying on the floor by my feet. All that after two and a half weeks.
It is indeed true, Labradors need lots of love, encouragement, playing, exercise and of course most important to them food!!!!
A dog is what you make it and now we are one very happy family.
Lots of love, woofs and paws,
Monique, Jon, Adrienne (grandma), Ollie, Will, Harvey and Bradley (and the rest of the zoo) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
