Dear Labrador Rescue

Agatha, a small yellow Labrador - with the softest coat imaginable - came to join our family in April 2007. Despite a fairly difficult start in her previous life she was full of affection and loved cuddles from the start. My husband did tell me gently that dogs "really should not be on the sofa" and he held out for... oh, at least 10 minutes and now Aggie, and Archie our black Labrador, spend most evenings snuggled up to me when I am watching TV.

When Aggie arrived, Fran, our local LR helper pointed out that Aggie needed to put on some weight. I am pleased to report that she has now really built up her muscles and she and Archie have a great time together exploring the surrounding countryside, beaches and marshes near our home. I love to watch them running free, especially as they are both excellent at coming back (especially if there is a chance of a dog treat!) when called.

From the start Aggie proved to be a real hit with our wider family, even when during one visit we found out that she is a highly accomplished food thief! Aggie is doing her best to teach Archie how to steal food, and er, tea towels (?!), and in return he is teaching her to lose her terrible fear of the hoover. So dear Fran, if you come and visit us all again, it may take some time to round up tea with bikkies because... we keep forgetting which (very high) shelf they are kept on!

Thanks a million LR, for finding Aggie, a much needed "sister" to Archie (who had been grieving for a much loved older "brother") and our dear little yellow girl.
