TESTIMONIALS AND ENDORSEMENTS
The Trust receives many emails and letters of support for our work (many of our success stories are written by our new owners and these are featured separately in the ‘Success’ section of the website). However, it is always cheering news, especially for our dedicated volunteers to hear that they are appreciated so much. It seems such a pity not to share them, so here are just a few:
(If you would like to send us your comments please email us at website@labrador-rescue.com).
I just wanted to say, and to let you know that we got our wonderful dog Cash (Cassidy) from you 12 years ago this Jan 10. We had 12 wonderful years with him and sadly we recently lost him. He was born with problems with his back legs and he did so well all his life coping with this. I just really wanted to say a very big thank you for allowing us to have him. We loved him very much and he had a wonderful life and made our life very special. He was a very special dog.
Thanks

I just wanted to congratulate you on your fantastic work. As the owner of two beautiful old boys of nearly 12 called Fred and Barney, it is so sad to think of other Labradors suffering. My two have moved from Gloucestershire to Shropshire via Herefordshire and have been the best of friends to me. They are getting to an age when I worry about losing them, they really are family and give so much love. We are moving back to Gloucestershire later this year and maybe I will be able to help you in some way. Meantime I will sign up for your newsletter. So pleased to find the website.
We would like to inform you of the death of our beloved labrador Thomas, who we adopted through you on 15th February 2003 via your volunteer Pauline.
We emigrated to Perth, Western Australia, in October 2005 and Thomas and other labrador Benji came with us too. He very much enjoyed life in Australia, the warmer weather seemed to suit him and he was an absolute joy to have around. Tommie was always so gentle and cheerful and always was so grateful for treats, walks, meals, fuss, his tail never seemed to stop wagging. And he was never in a bad mood. He'll be so much missed and never forgotten by us. We are so very grateful that we could make his later years happy and settled.
We would like to thank you for the valuable work you carry out and for bringing Tommie into our lives. We understand Pauline moved to Wales, but if she is still associated with your charity, please could you let her know also, we're sure she would remember Tommie because of the severe neglect he suffered prior to coming to us. He was such a beautiful dog.
With many thanks for 7 years of happiness with Tommie.
Yours sincerely
Roland and Sue

Dear Shelia
Thank you very much for sending me another pack of cards, they arrived today. I will put a cheque for £6.00 in the post to cover cost - you are a well worth charity which I have supported for years (Post Office's fault). I have had Labradors since 1967 and have 3 lovely girls aged 12, 10 & 3. We gave a home to a 4 year old of a friend who was dying with a brain tumour nearly nine years ago and sadly lost her two months ago; oh such sadness why do we do this to ourselves. I know quite a few people who have had labs from you over the years and they give such pleasure. You all do a great job.
Many thanks again
Susan
I have been given your address by a Mrs Pratt to send you a donation for the dogs. Please find enclosed cheque for £30.
I would very much like to receive the magazine from you. My friend lent me her Summer copy and it was so interesting. Perhaps you would be kind enough to let me know what I have to do to obtain this regularly.
I am a Labrador owner. He is black and eight years old. I have had him since he was seven weeks old and he is absolutely adorable: as are all Labradors! Mine is called Ebony.
Look forward to hearing from you.

Dear TLRT
We have recently had the emotional rench of having to re home our chocolate Lab called Henry. Unfortunately due to our work commitments and the change in our family responsibilities we were no longer able to give him the attention and time he deserved. We contacted TLRT and a wondeful lady called Susan Offen from Woodstock, Oxfordshire came to Henry's rescue. After making the painful decision that we would need to re home Henry Susan understood that acting quickly in order to find Henry a new home was paramount. Within one week Susan had found Henry a new home, a wonderful family that had recently lost their family labrador and were hoping to replace him with a recue dog.
I am pleased to say both Henry and his new family are settling in nicely, Henry's new family have the time and energy that he requires and are able to bestow the love and affection that Henry craves, 24/7, he is a lab after all. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Susan Offen for finding such a wonderful new home for Henry and for being so understanding and sympathetic to our dilemma of having to let Henry go. We all loved him very much and we miss him, but we know that letting him go was the right thing to do. Thank you TLRT for helping us and I hope this email can find its way onto a comments page on your website so that other families and individuals are able to express their gratitude for the work that TLRT does.
Yours faithfully
The Penman family

Hi there, I am with a rescue group in California, and I stumbled across
your website and saw your fundraiser where people 'sponser' a lab. I
think this is a great idea and I was wondering if I can ask someone a
few questions about it.

I just wanted to write and say thank you for printing the success
story about Daisy. As the owner who had to make the really tough
decision to re-home her it made me cry with happiness that she is so
happy now. I do think about her every day.
We still have Briagh our female irish wolfhound and as our vets bills
currently stand at £120 per month for her, so it was the right, if not
the easiest thing to do.
Please do pass on our best wishes to the current owner if you ever get
in touch, and once again thank you and the team for helping us out
with Daisy.

I am contacting you from Australia to congratulate you for producing such a great newsletter/magazine. My husband and I are the proud owners of a beautiful yellow labrador named Penny and we receive these newsletters from my brother and sister in law who live in Hampshire. They are the proud owners of a beautiful black lab named Toby. We wish you well in the wonderful work you are doing for these very special dogs.
Kind Regards
Maureen and Trevor

I think the new site is interesting and more detailed than the old one
which I visited often. Thank you for all your hard work.
Best wishes

Hi
I have had a litter of Lab babies that are going to their new homes from this weekend. I would like to donate a proportion of their purchase prices to The Trust. I hope none of my puppies ever end up in rescue, and I feel that I have done everything possible to ensure that they are going to permanent loving homes, however, I know there could always be a chance & would like to make a contribution to The Trust.
Many Thanks
Heather
(£100 was received via Heather – which The Trust is extremely grateful for)

Subject: advice on setting up a fostering scheme
Hello,
I am sorry to bother you, I am really looking for some advice.
I know that your organisation does a fantastic job of finding new homes for rescue labradors and I am hoping to draw on your experience and ask for some advice.
I have recently been appointed the Regional Volunteering Manager, Devon for The Blue Cross. As part of this role I am looking to recruit and make more use of short term foster homes around the adoption centres in Torbay and Tiverton. We shall eventually be looking to home our animals directly from the foster homes, and as I know that you do this very successfully I hope you don't mind if I ask a few questions about your procedures.
I would appreciate any information you can offer me. The Blue Cross currently uses short term foster homes to a small extent but I would like to expand this programme, but also make sure that we get it right.
Many thanks
