TLRT Publicity - Help is at Hand for Labradors

This handsome young chap, pictured above, is The Labrador Rescue Trust's 6,000th dog to be rescued in the 18 years since The Trust was formed. Charlie came to The Trust as a stray, frightened and weak, and had obviously been trying to scavenge food for some time. Look at him now - from a nervous wreck to a delightful, healthy, confident dog in just a few months, thanks to a super foster home. Charlie has now been adopted and is a well-loved member of his new family.
The Labrador Rescue Trust is urgently seeking suitable homes willing to put in some time with training and rehabilitation. This can be in the form of a permanent home, short term or long term fostering. One of The Trust's strengths is that it is always on hand to give help and advice with your rescue. It doesn't just give you any dog and let you get on with it, unlike some organisations. The welfare of the dogs is always paramount, and great care is taken in matching the right dog to the right home.
Do think very carefully about whether a Labrador will fit in with your family and lifestyle. If the answer is yes, then consider whether you could give a home to a rescue dog. A common misconception is that a rescue dog has been ill-treated and abused. It is true that there are dogs who come to The Trust in a dreadful state of health and mind, and experienced foster homes are needed for these dogs.
The majority are those having to be rehomed through no fault of their own, but due to a change of circumstances within the family, resulting in them having to, very reluctantly, part with their much loved pet.
