Honey
By careful dieting and gradually increasing the amount of exercise, many of the dogs regain a normal life again and our 'Slimmer of the Year 2007' must go to Honey.
Honey is 7 years old and weighed in at 44.12 Kg in October 2006 when she came into rescue as a result of a marital break-up.
Honey went to a lovely new home on the edge of a common and her new owner immediately started her on a strictly controlled diet and exercise programme (in consultation with her vet). The first few trips to the vet caused some laughter as 2 ladies struggled to load her into the car.
Honey weighed in at 31 Kg in June 2007 and is still losing the last few pounds. A total loss of over 13 Kg.
Well done to Honey and her new owner Pat. Thanks also need to go to TLRT helper Pam (who helped carry) and also to Pat’s friend Jean, who helped with the exercise programme and to friends Pat and Pam, who provided additional moral support throughout.
Honey is now able to enjoy all her regular walks on the hills and common and has gained a new lease of life.
